On Monday, Business Sweden hosted a high-level seminar in collaboration with Ambassade de Suède en France, as part of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in Nice. HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, alongside Romina Pourmokhtari, Sweden’s Minister for Climate and the Environment, and Agnès Pannier-Runacher, France’s Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forests, the Sea and Fisheries, joined business leaders and policymakers to explore Swedish solutions for protecting and sustainably managing our ocean and coasts. Both ministers delivered compelling remarks, emphasising the urgent need for concrete action to protect our ocean and coasts. Seven Swedish companies – Candela, SeaTwirl AB, SKF Marine, Ragn-Sells, Minesto, Seaflex, and Surfcleaner AB – showcased their solutions for cleaning polluted water, recovering phosphor and nitrogen, and developing ocean-based energy sources and electrified ferries. Together, these companies demonstrate how innovation can drive a sustainable future for our ocean. Photo by: Pelle T Nilsson

  • India records over 172,000 road traffic fatalities annually. In response, the Indian government is prioritising road safety, with an ambitious target to halve accident rates by 2030. This has led to the implementation of comprehensive safety regulations across vehicle and road engineering, as well as law enforcement. Driven by these efforts, India’s road safety market is expanding rapidly and is projected to reach USD 512 million by 2030. In this context, data-driven transport governance and technological solutions are playing a critical role in improving mobility systems. Swedish companies, recognised globally for innovation in transport and safety, are well-positioned to contribute to this evolving landscape. This webinar offers strategic knowledge and practical guidance on how to engage with India’s road safety ecosystem, supported by Team Sweden’s resources on the ground. Over two impactful days in Stockholm, Business Sweden convened climate leaders from industry, government, academia, and civil society to shape Sweden’s engagement toward #COP30 and beyond. Discussions centered on how Swedish solutions – from clean transport and robust energy systems to circular manufacturing, resilient food systems, and financial tools – can ”double down” on climate action for mitigation and adaptation, fostering resilient and prosperous societies. Alongside Sweden’s State Secretary Håkan Jevrell, Chief Negotiator Mattias Frumerie, and ambassadors to Sweden from Brazil, H.E. Ms. Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis, China, H.E. Mr. Cui Aimin, Australia H.E. Ms. Frances Sagala, Nigeria, H.E. Dr. Tiwatope Adeleye Elias-Fatile and other nations, leading Swedish companies explored ways to continue supporting the enhancement of ambition and implementation of the next round of NDCs and for successful COP30 outcomes. The countdown has begun. See you in Belém. #SwedenTheClimateMatchmaker
