Last week, Business Sweden and the Swedish Energy Agency co-hosted a delegation of German deeptech battery companies in Sweden. The visit aimed to connect German companies with Swedish leaders in battery innovation, research, and development to explore long-term partnerships and establishments. The visit began in Gothenburg, Sweden’s automotive hub, alongside the 38th Electric Vehicle Symposium. Highlights included visits to Volvo Group for insights on road electrification and the development of the Mariestad battery factory, and to MobilityXlab – a platform connecting emerging tech companies with industry partners to accelerate mobility solutions. In Stockholm, the delegation met with green tech investors and battery researchers, visited the SEEL testbed in Nykvarn, and toured Scania HQ to learn about battery development and support for new ventures. The event aimed to shape priorities for the next 24 months, define success, and explore new opportunities for collaboration and mutual benefit. The event Discussions focused on Swedish innovation and how it can help close the implementation gap — from clean energy and circular systems to sustainable food and climate finance.
