How can we strengthen Sweden’s energy footprint in Southeast Asia? During Almedalen last week, Business Sweden had the pleasure of hosting a roundtable that brought together key stakeholders to discuss the question. State Secretary Maja Lundbäck participated alongside representatives from ABB, Hitachi Energy, NKT, Siemens Energy, and Svenska kraftnät. Sweden’s strategy for Trade, Investment and Global Competitiveness has a strong focus on Asia. Swedish companies value Southeast Asia as growth engine for both export and decarbonization, and the energy sector is leading the trend. Something that was reinforced during the Swedish state visit to Singapore in 2024 and marked by the signing of a bilateral MoU on energy collaboration. Thank you to the participants for contributing to a meaningful discussion! Interested in exploring business opportunities in Southeast Asia? Get in touch with us today: https://brnw.ch/21wTOja

  • When global trade in goods dampens, services continue to silently gain momentum. Our latest report “The invisible exports” takes you behind the scenes of Sweden’s exports of services – a growing yet often overlooked engine of the Swedish economy. “The continued upswing for global trade in services has largely flown under the radar. We can observe that Sweden stands strong with a 1.3 per cent share of global exports of services, with digital services as our signature strength,” says Lena Sellgren, Chief Economist at Business Sweden.
