Pioneering DEI practices on the global stage, Swedish companies are the focus of our newly launched Global Executive Insight report, "Diversity Beyond Borders," released yesterday! As DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) continues to be a key driver of innovation and competitiveness, Swedish companies are leading the way—integrating progressive DEI strategies across diverse markets. However, with evolving regulations in Europe and growing political controversy in the US, companies must navigate an increasingly complex landscape. To mark the launch, Business Sweden hosted an engaging discussion with leaders from across industries. Some key moments included: - Paulina Brandberg, Minister for Gender Equality and Working Life, reaffirming Sweden’s commitment to equality and inclusion. - Jan Larsson, President and CEO, Business Sweden, sharing how companies can adapt to shifting political landscapes and how Business Sweden supports them globally. - Maha Bouzeid, Nathalie Thiel, and Salah Benkhlafa, presenting the report’s key findings on how Swedish companies implement DEI worldwide. - Panel discussion moderated by Lena Sellgren, Chief Economist at Business Sweden, featuring Katarina Berg, CHRO & General Manager Sweden at Spotify, Sofia Vahlne, Head of Leadership, Culture & People Sustainability at Scania Group, Tove Dahlgren, VP at AllBright, and Christian Biller, Brand Strategist at Svenska institutet, who shared best practices, challenges, and success factors in global DEI implementation. The conversations made it clear: Swedish companies are not just following global DEI trends—they are setting them. While much has been accomplished, there is still plenty of work ahead! A big thank you to all our speakers and attendees for contributing to such an insightful discussion! Curious about the findings?
