On Tuesday we celebrated a major milestone for Sweden–Nigeria relations with the official opening of the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos – a key step in deepening Sweden’s presence and strengthening business ties in the region. Swedish and Nigerian Business leaders, policy makers and industry experts met on Tuesday in Lagos at the Nigeria–Sweden Business Forum, launched in the presence of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria and Minister for Infrastructure and Housing Andreas Carlson. The forum focused on innovation, impact investment, and sustainable urban transport – areas where Swedish and Nigerian businesses can drive shared value and long-term development. During the forum, 4 Swedish organisations signed contracts and MOUs in conjunction with the opening of Business Swedens new trade office in Nigeria on Tuesday. Scania Group Group confirmed that they will sell 2,000 biogas-powered buses to Lagos in Nigeria. Epicenter Stockholm and 21st Century Technologies Limited signed an agreement of co-creation and open innovation, with focus on driving innovation in the digital space. Global Wissen Consult signed 6 MOUs for the implementation of their Digital Entrepreneurship and skills program. Swedfund Internationald and the Nigerian Communications Commission signed an MOU for the expansion of secure, inclusive mobile access across Nigeria.
