SWEDEN-INDONESIA SUSTAINABILITY PARTNERSHIP WEEK

On November 23-27, Indonesia and Sweden, in celebration of 70 years of diplomatic relations, will be hosting the Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) week. Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the week will consist of a series of G2G and B2B webinars that aim to strengthen sustainability partnerships in several fields.

Each day will begin with a plenary session with high-level Indonesian and Swedish political participation, followed by discussions between the private and public sector on understanding key challenges and how Indonesia and Sweden can collaborate for a more sustainable future.

MONDAY – ECONOMIC RECOVERY 

The day will begin with a plenary session with high-level political participation focusing on the excellent bilateral relations between Sweden and Indonesia, and how to strengthen these further for a more sustainable future for all. A panel discussion will follow on how to build upon the cooperation between our countries within the arena of sustainability ahead of 2030, as well as a discussion between academia, the private and public sector, focusing on how to accelerate economic recovery.

TUESDAY – THE FUTURE OF URBAN TRANSPORT 

Tuesday November 24 is dedicated to Urban Transport and begins with a plenary session with high-level political participation focusing on the future of urban transport; how short- and long-term visions can guide the Indonesian-Swedish cooperation. The following panel discussions invite experts from academia, the private and public sector to explore how we can move from talk to action within areas such as MRT, LRT and BRT development in Indonesia.

WEDNESDAY – SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

Wednesday November 25 is dedicated to Sustainable Energy and begins with a plenary session with high-level political participation to share experiences from Indonesia and Sweden of the adoption of reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources. In the following two panel discussions, we invite participants to examine new fields of collaboration between our countries in sustainable energy technology implementation, electrical grid development and industrial applications.

THURSDAY – WATER & WASTE MANAGEMENT 

Thursday November 26 is dedicated to Waste & Water Management and begins with a plenary session with high-level political participation to share experiences of national and multilateral efforts in achieving SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation for all) and SDG 14 (conserve and sustainably use marine resources). In the following panel sessions, we explore current issues in water and sanitation development, within upstream & downstream waste treatment and seek to identify new fields of collaboration between our two countries.

FRIDAY – SUSTAINABLE HEALTHCARE 

Friday November 27 is dedicated to Sustainable Healthcare and during the day Indonesian and Swedish participants will explore how the goals stated in Indonesia’s Healthcare Roadmap 2021-2024 can be achieved through bilateral cooperation. The first panel will explore ways of strengthening healthcare resilience in a post-COVID-19 environment, and in the second panel we take a closer look at Swedish innovations in medical technology and how these can play a role in strengthening Indonesia’s public healthcare system.
