Team Sweden is a network of public organisations, agencies and companies that promote Swedish exports and investments in Sweden. The network was set up as many Swedish companies expressed a need to clarify the support available during their internationalisation process.

Several public sector organisations and agencies offer similar services, but on slightly different terms. The organisations in Team Sweden can point companies in the most relevant direction, making the process of export market entry easier and more efficient.

Team Sweden focuses on: 

  • Exchanging promotion experiences 
  • Identifying Swedish solutions and systems that can be marketed internationally   
  • Recommending and coordinating special initiatives 
  • Conducting an ongoing dialogue with the business sector

EKN 

EKN, The Swedish Export Credit Agency, is a government agency that promotes Swedish exports by insuring the risk of non-payment in export transactions. It also insures export companies’ and their buyers’ bank loans. EKN's guarantees make difficult markets accessible and enable more secure export transactions.

Swedfund is the Development Finance Institution of the Swedish state. Their mission is to combat poverty by investing in and developing sustainable business in the most challenging markets around the world.

Almi 

Owned by the Swedish state, Almi offers loans to companies with growth potential and supports their business development. Their services are available both to start-ups and to established companies. The subsidiary Almi Invest provides venture capital for promising early-stage companies with a scalable business concept.

Tillväxtverket

The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket) is a government agency under the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. Their focus is on fostering sustainable growth and competitiveness in all parts of Sweden, with the vision that more businesses want to grow and have the capabilities and courage to do so. Tillväxtverket provides knowledge, networks and funding.

The main objective of Enterprise Europe Network is to provide support to ambitious small and medium sized enterprises that plan for internationalisation. The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth is the main financer, together with the European Commission.

Vinnova is Sweden's government agency for innovation. Their vision is to be an innovative force in a sustainable world. Energimyndigheten

The Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten) is leading the energy transition into a modern and sustainable, fossil-free welfare society. They support business development that allows commercialisation of energy related innovations and ensure that promising cleantech solutions can be exported. Furthermore, they participate in international collaboration with the aim of attaining Swedish energy and climate objectives and develop and disseminate knowledge for a more efficient energy use to households, industry, and the public sector.

The Swedish Institute is a public agency that promotes interest and trust in Sweden around the world. SI works in the fields of culture, education, science and business to strengthen international relations and development. They support and collaborate with businesses, universities, cultural institutions and Swedish embassies around the world.

Regional export centres

Alongside the creation of Team Sweden, the Swedish government initiated the development of regional export centres with the over-arching goal to support companies in all parts of Sweden to get in touch with the right promotional contact within 24 hours. The work of the regional export centres focuses on common activities such as joint customer interactions, seminars and conferences. Business Sweden is a key player in the cooperation to reach the goal of the export centres.
